When you add contacts by typing email address or PIN, then that person must accept your invitation so that he can be added to the list of BlackBerry ® Messenger contacts.

1. On the Home screen or in the Instant Messaging folder, click the BlackBerry Messenger.
2. On the contact list screen, press the Menu key.
3. Click Invite Contacts.
4. Click Invite to send a PIN message or email message.
5. Type part or all contact information.
6. Click for contact information.
7. If necessary, change the Send Using.
8. If necessary, change the category.
9. Click Submit.

The person will remain in the category Postponed until she responded to your invitation.
